Frequently asked questions

PaprX is free. Every tool and all three editors (PDF, Excel and Markdown) are free to use, with or without an account. A free account adds storage for your files, folders, sharing links and version history.

No. You can use every tool and editor straight away as a guest. Guest files are private to your browser session and are deleted automatically 2 hours after your last activity. Sign up if you want to keep them — files from your guest session move into your new account.

Guests can upload files up to 25 MB each. With a free account the limit is 100 MB per file and 1 GB of storage.

Files you upload are stored privately and only you can open them. Guest files are deleted 2 hours after your last activity. In an account, files stay until you delete them; deleted files wait in Trash for 30 days and are then removed for good.

Several tools — for example Sign, Redact, OCR, Organize and the page tools — run entirely in your browser, so the file never leaves your device. The tool page tells you whether a file stays on your device or is uploaded.

Yes. Open the PDF editor and double-click a heading or paragraph to rewrite it. PaprX keeps the original font and colour where it can, and you can also add text, pictures, shapes, highlights and signatures. Scanned pages have no text layer — run OCR first.

Yes. The website and the tools work on phones and tablets. The editors work best on a larger screen.

Connections are encrypted, files are stored privately, uploads are checked before they are processed, and passwords are stored only as secure hashes. See the security section of our privacy policy for details.

Go to Settings and choose “Delete account”. Your files, versions and sharing links are deleted with it.
